Below you see an image of Archangel Raphael, patron saint of Atenas, located in the Mercado. Naturally there is a legend about the fish he holds in his hands.

 A big thanks to these guys for details of the legend.

The civic festivals  honoring San Rafael are celebrated on October 24th of each year, and the Ticos are convinced it will always rain on those fiestas.
